Only two of the four eggs hatched. And the babies have nearly lost all of their downy feathers.
The two unhatched eggs are gone; don't know what happened to them. I haven't been following the birds as closely this time as last year, though this time I did follow from the start and last year I came in very late.
You can also see that the nest is getting rather untidy, with remnants of the kills brought by their parents strewn about.
They've been banded, too. Pretty soon, I'd imagine they'll be testing their wings for flight.
