I'm not really afraid to admit I like any song. Even Sk8r Boi has its moments.

The Horsetamer's Daughter filk , by Leslie Fish. And there's another filk I can't find anymore, about a ship in space where the crew dies to bring refugees to safety, all but one member who gets beaned on the head by another crewmember when he suggests drawing straws for the last, undamaged suit/helmet or something. The story is told from his POV, and it always makes me cry. I'm mentioning it here hoping someone will know the filk in question and tell me where I can find it!

Sorry, I lost the rest of my response somehow. Anyway, we have a copy somewhere. It's "Some kind of hero" by Mercedes Lackey, I think. Now it's gonna be stuck in my head all day :-)
