Once upon a time, the members of the RPGames forum on Compuserve had gatherings in the northeastern United States (and Toronto!). We'd go to each other's houses, and sit and game and chat and watch laserdiscs/videos and listen to music and chat some more. All weekend long.
At the last one at the house I lived in in Portsmouth, it was called Rivendell. Likely because of it's large size and ability to accommodate everyone, including some in their own rooms.
I moved out on my own, and my mother sold Rivendell a few years later. We were the first family to own it. And now the second family to own it have put it up for sale.
I need some better exterior pictures than that. But that's the house I grew up in. It's what I considered my home for most of my life. If I had the money, I'd buy it, just to have it. But as you can see, it's going for a bit more than the average vamily can afford these days. Almost twice as much as my mother sold it for lo those years ago, IIRC.
Ah, nostalgia.
