TiVo to move into ReplayTV's niche

The Washington post (free registration required) had an article on the battle TiVo has ahead of it to allow its users to download TiVo shows to their PCs. One of the issues Hollywood has is that then users can share shows.

TiVo's Plans Lead to Fight On Copyrights

Of course, ReplayTV has this capability with the wonderful DVArchive, and thanks to Poopli, we can already share shows across the internet. I think my record now is 5/5, for shows received and sent. (The Cowboy Bebop movie I recorded and never actually got to watch rocked me right up on the send score)

Personally, I'm waiting for the integration of the DVR unit with the cable box. Unless I can find another Replay unit for $100, I'll be content with the one I have.
