Someone got the whole Vanity Fair SW Cast Pic scanned in, and it's making the 'net rounds.
I find it interesting that the original cast is the farthest from George. And Carrie Fisher looks like she's hiding behind Harrison Ford, though the Han/Leia 'shippers must be squeeing loudly.
Boy, stay home sick for a day and not read blogs or LJ, and suddenly get blindsided by the news that Six Apart [is going to] Buy LiveJournal.
One can only hope that Six Apart, as much as I love Movabletype, leaves LJ well enough alone.
Not that I expected it to be any different, but it was announced today on both the 6A site and LJ.

Six Apart: LiveJournal Acquisition FAQ
Big news... Six Apart and LiveJournal!
Already, LJ folk are screaming and crying, having laughed and laughed at bloggers who were upset with 6A's licensing issues. Now they fear ads, cost increases, and a general "different LJ" than they were used to.
Only time will tell. I think it's a good thing, for both LJ and 6A. But those who are "Amish" about change have already started crying foul and heading to other places.
Want to travel from place to place, but worried about your laptop being stolen? Now, you only have to worry about hungry thieves, with the new PowerPizza travelling case!
I do wonder though, will it smell like pizza?

You know, I am beginning to think that a good portion of my blog post are really ay way to send links to my husband. Like this, for example:
Tomb Raider 7 to be unveiled in Autumn
Eidos has confirmed Tomb Raider 7 - under development by U.S.-based studio Crystal Dynamics - "will be unveiled this autumn and is scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of the current financial year." The statement was made as part of Eidos' posted Preliminary Results in which the company registered a 2.9 million pound year-end net loss after sales slumped.
And further on that site, there's an indication that future games in the TR series will not be PS2 only, but may port (later, thankfully) to the XBOX.
All I can hope is that it's better than Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness for gameplay. The storyline was okay, but gameplay sucked major donkey balls.
And here's hoping they'll keep Kurtis Trent!
I think I first noticed this phenomenon when I was playing SimCity a lot. I would look at the landscape around me as I drove, noting which was industrial, which residential, and noting the buildings that I would tear down because of new construction.
But I do know that both Lou and I have experienced the effect with other games, especially SSX Tricky (looking for rails to ride and secret paths), the Jak series (looking for places to grind the jetboard), and other games as well.
Though I don't think I'd ever grab the wheel from him as we were driving. It does make me reconsider getting a copy of Katamari Damacy, though.
Being a girl, and a gamer, I did find this article (subtitled "The myths, misconceptions, and misdemeanors of females in games") an interesting read. I'm also glad to see that more game companies are trying to figure out how to "get the girl" - basically trying to appeal to the female market.
And I will admit, I love the Tomb Raider games, improbable breasts or not. With the exception of the last game (which featured poor gameplay, not a reflection on the storyline), they've been great to play, and to watch my husband play. I didn't care if she was well-endowed or not, if it was a good game, that's all that mattered.
I think that might be why "Beyond Good and Evil," mentioned in the article and an image in the sidebar, didn't do as well, not because the main character wasn't a buxom babe. Gameplay wasn't up to snuff, therefore the game suffered.
Now if we can just get that elusive, perfect game, with a realistically-proportioned heroine and good gameplay and a good storyline!

Stole this from ***Dave, who got it from elsewhere...

Do I think this is representative of my music? Not really, actually. There is NO country music on here, and I have a LOT of country music. Okay, not as much as soundtrack music, (which is double that of my country music), but still...
So I've installed the nofollow plugin, and it does appear to work very well after a quick rebuild.
My only question is...since it has to be installed, how many folk won't install it, and therefore the spammers keep spamming? I know that ou can't have it be something that you don't have to install; that's pretty much impossible.
Anyway, here's hoping!
No, they're not making ABC's Lost into a comic book yet. But if you want to know about the Spanish comic that Walt is seen reading in a few episodes of the show, you can go here and see a summary and some page scans.
I paused a few times on the title last night, and I knew they had the old Flash (Jay Garrick? Do I have the name right?) in the first ep with OMGWTFPOLARBEAR. And I will admit, I wanted to go looking, but I don't have a lot of Flash or Green Lantern comics, so I really was just waiting for someone else to do the work. And so they have.
You know there's a lot of snow on the ground when Brown closes. I think this is only the second time in the five+ years I've worked there (was "recognized" for my 5 years this past week, though I've not gotten my pen yet).
Of course, it helps that the governor RI has finally declared a state of emergency, and closed all state offices and schools for tomorrow. MA (where we live) declared the state of emergency yesterday.
So, we've got a pot roast cooking in the crock pot, and Lou's busy WoWing (that's World of Warcraft, for those who don't recognize the acronym), RotK:EE up on the docket after watching the first two episodes of Battlestar Galactica (the new series), we're bundled up, and we've got kitties to keep us/keep warm. We even have bread and milk! (It's a RI/New England thing, don't ask, but I think it goes back to the Blizzard of '78.)
So, how y'all doing?
If I could set my ReplayTV in far enough advance to record this show, I would.
Fortunately, one of our local PBS stations is WGBH, and I'm glad they're still going to be airing it.
And I'm not really thrilled with our brand new education secretary. It's an odd day when you're considering wishing Rod Paige was still in charge of the Department of Education.
Own an MGM DVD? It's at least likely you have one in your collection.
Well, were you aware that MGM did fake "widescreen" on their DVD releases, using the pan&scan and just cropping off the bottom and top to make it look like it was in the 16:9 aspect ratio?
You are now. And you can claim recompense or a new DVD, hopefully in the proper aspect ratio. There is a PDF file with all the affected DVDs, and I have seen two with a quick glance at the first and last pages that we have at home.
Too bad I've not managed to get Readerware up and running at home yet.
