It was working, then suddenly, it wasn't.
So now, we're back to static, but still with .html instead of .shtml.
When I have more time to figure out what MT means by "In your weblog root directory" when your weblog isn't at the root of your website, we may be in business.

One of my ongoing frustrations with all webhost-based systems (including, but not limited to, MT) is the ambiguity as to from what point you start giving directories from. Is it relative to the root of the actual server? Relative to the account name? Relative to public_html? Relative to where MT is installed (etc.)?
And sometimes they will want the leading slash. Sometimes not. Feh.
